10 Dime - Teaser (Tulsa & T-Tech) - Loser
Wow - what a finish to the Tulsa-ECU game. Tough way to lose on a TD pass as time expires, but a loss it was and those are the breaks, which always even out over the long run and if you can't accept them, you shouldn't be gambling.
I hate losing as much as you, but sometimes the team you bet against will score on a miracle 33-yard TD pass on the game's final play. No blaming refs, turnovers, weather, etc., because I made the pick on Tulsa in the teaser and it was loser. And the same way I don't celebrate winners, I don't lament the losers because again, I know with 100% conviction the breaks even themselves out over the long run after 25 years of doing this.
This was a 10 dime play, not a 100 dime release. And let's face it, everyone would have been celebrating if the break went the other way and it was a Tulsa win instead, especially since Texas Tech blew a big lead but still hung on for the 1/2 point cover against SMU. But it wasn't. It was a loser, and there is no such thing as a "good loser."
Guys in this business who get hung up on one loser lose focus and can't handicap or bet with clarity, often missing the next money-making opportunity. They're the carnival barkers, the guys who sell their souls to make sales. I don't play that game. Never have; never will. I lost 12 dimes today, not 120, and I will now simply find the next winner or two to get that 12 dimes and more back.
